You may remember an article on www.Forbes.com last June that featured Marin County as one of America’s best places to raise a family. Among the top 20 was Marin – #15 on the list.
In this article, the author warned readers: “Good luck finding a home: median price is $901,900!” Although the financial crisis did not lower the median price of homes drastically in some parts of Marin, there are a good number of homes on the market today. If you are ready to buy, chances are you WILL find a home – whatever your price range. Chances are you may even find a good deal!
Good news for buyers and sellers all around. It is spring, and we see more inventory popping up. As a buyer, you will have a great selection of homes to choose from. From a seller’s perspective, spring also brings out the buyers.
Families in San Francisco just received their acceptance letters from private school in the city. Lucky are those that got one, but those who did not – guess where they will look next? To Marin, specifically Southern and Central Marin where the public schools are top notch. These families will start looking now in hopes of buying their new home before summer’s end, so they can settle the children in before the start of the school year in September.
The most coveted areas of Marin for this reason are the cities of Tiburon, Belvedere, Mill Valley, Greenbrae, Larkspur, Corte Madera, Kentfield and Ross.
In the next three months, we will not only see more inventory in these cities, but also more sales. So, if you are thinking of buying a home in Marin, now is the time. Make an offer before someone else does.
