Tiburon parents have been anxious to find out how the California State financial crises will affect their children and the Reed Union School District.
Good news came last week, when Superintendent Christine Carter distributed an email stating that, although the district will lose some funding, the children’s educational programs will not be affected. She credited the Board of Trustees and their exceptional financial planning for the district’s sound and well-managed budget.
Among the good news: no teachers will be laid off, the number of instructional days will remain the same, and the foundation supported programs – art, music, technology, PE and Spanish – will continue to be offered to students.
For details on the funding RUSD is expected to lose in the coming year, read “Q & A on the State and School District Budget” on the District website http://www.reedschools.org. You will also find here other financial crises related articles compiled by Superintendent Chris Carter.
